3. Art is Free

Dear Sade,

One day a great and wonderful artist painted a picture, Everyone admired it for it was very good. So good in fact that those who came after him tried to paint pictures that looked like his. The public loved these pictures and they filled the art museums and galleries with them and everyone thought it was wonderful and they called it Art. Everyone was happy too for they knew what Art was and it pleased most of the people most of the time. Then along came an artist who was different. He said: "Hey, this Art doesn't present a challenge to me". So, in expressing himself he painted something that was new and unconventional and unique and it was called art. Sade, when you become an artist you must aspire to create art not Art.
